Storm and wind damaged siding in Suffolk County
Long Island sits in the path of nor'easters and the occasional tropical storm. When wind gets under a course of siding it can peel a whole run off a wall. One call connects you with a contractor who can inspect it and repair it.

What the record shows
During Hurricane Sandy in 2012, the strongest reliable gust the National Hurricane Center recorded was 83 knots at Eatons Neck, on the North Shore in the Town of Huntington (NHC report). In 2020, Tropical Storm Isaias brought widespread tropical-storm-force winds and occasional hurricane-force gusts to Long Island and New York City (NHC report).

After the wind drops
Walk around the house in daylight and photograph every wall, including close-ups of loose, cracked or missing pieces and anything on the ground. Look under eaves and at corners, where wind often starts lifting siding. If sheathing is exposed, a tarp or plastic sheeting fastened over it keeps rain out until a repair.
Stay off ladders in wind, and keep away from anything near power lines. If a wall is open to the weather, say so when you call.
Insurance
This site does not help with insurance claims and the contractor reached through it is not your insurer's representative. Homeowners usually talk to their own insurance company directly about storm damage. The photographs above are useful whatever you decide.
